Paul Kozal

The gallery is delighted to have available for the first time two iconic limited edition images - Palos Park and Lone Tree, from Paul Kozal. Paul has created an oustanding portfolio of work, is self taught, and has extensively photographed the Southwest. His influences include the painter Maynard Dixon, and photographer Paul Caponigro. Paul Kozal is a strictly traditional photographer but it is his dark room techinque that sets him apart and gives him the edge by the meticulous use of toning and hand coloring. The effect is to create a unique vision of images that is delicate, haunting and deeply mystical. Both photographs are in bespoke black wood frames with high grade Uv protected glass.

Roman Loranc - New to the Gallery

We are delighted to have available for sale two large limited edition photographs from Roman Loranc. Roman has established himself as one of California's most popular and sought after photographers. Both these images reflect the high level of artistic and technical skill that has made Roman's work so popular in the USA. His work apreciates significantly in value as the edition sells out, so both these images combine high quality aesthetics with investment return. We have put both photographs into luxury black wood frames with Uv protective glass which is fully inclusive in the price. We hope that Romans work will become a core feature of the gallery's offer over the next 12 months.

Gallery Expansion underway

It has been a very busy time over the summer months as we continued to expand the gallery and complete our move to Ditchling in Sussex. Commercially we are ahead of our planned income target, which is exciting, and the gallery is now a limited company.

We have recently introduced to the gallery work from Gerhard Bock and Matt Wensing in the emrging category, the established photographers Chip Hooper and Paul Kozal, and the master photographer Edward Weston. We now have work from over 20 photographers for sale. Each photographer brings a distinctive style and image reinforcing the vibrancy of the contemporary photographic scene in California.

Redwood Gallery Launch

This is a very exciting moment to see the launch of a new online gallery here in Britain dedicated to black and white photography from California and the American Southwest.

Some of the most beautiful and enduring photographic images in the history of photography originate from California. We have available for the first time classic and contemporary photographs that are highly original and affordable.

Our aim is to showcase the 'Monterey school' and the famous West Coast tradition. The combination of aesthetics and value for money makes this photography some of the most collectible in the world.

Julie Boaler and Victor Farlie who are based in Surrey, England founded the gallery in 2006. Photography has become increasingly popular and collectible in recent years, auction prices continue to set records and yet it remains possible to purchase high quality original work at affordable prices.

Our newsletter will also attempt to cover book reviews, museum exhibitions and interviews to establish a greater awareness and interest in west coast photography.

Leading Contemporary Photographers

The gallery launches with 34 different works for sale from 14 photographers who are grouped under the categories of; Emerging, Established and Masters. Prices will typically range from £100 to £5,000.

The gallery will work primarily with established photographers such as Huntington Witherill, Henry Gilpin, John Sexton and Ryuijie. We cater for a wide range of audiences who want to buy very good images that have the potential to appreciate in value over time.

We intend to host gallery shows in the UK to showcase images and develop themes across landscape photography linked to the website.

It is also an important part of our philosophy here in the gallery that original work by photographers in our emerging category should cost no more than a poster sold in a frame in the high street. Our range of images from emerging photographers starts at £100 including the frame with a standard £30 charge for guaranteed postage and packing anywhere in the UK within 3 days.

All the photographs are available for sale. They have been pre-purchased and imported into the UK. We do not sell posters or reproductions.
